Plant-based picnic in Vilnius: from oven-baked pizzas to discussions with invited guests

2024-08-20

On the last Sunday of summer, August 25, a plant-based picnic organized by our organization will be held in Vilnius, aimed at learning about plant-based nutrition and spending a cozy and meaningful afternoon in nature. During the event, participants will enjoy free plant-based snacks, discussions with invited guests, a yoga class and other entertainment.

Pizzas will be baked all day in the menagerie, on the meadow near the Vingis park bridge, and the partners will serve "Garden Gourmet" plant-based dishes and other snacks, plant-based desserts and drinks.

"We believe that if more people consume plant-based products, the more we will help ourselves and nature. "Garden Gourmet" brand, which has been present in the Baltic countries for more than 2 years, offers tasty, convenient and easy-to-make products that will help you to at least sometimes exchange meat dishes for vegetable dishes", says the "Garden Gourmet" brand, which also contributes to the organization of the event. Ambassador Vilma Kapočienė.

"The variety of plant-based dishes is much wider than vegetable soup or a bowl of salad. Vegetables can also be pizza, festive cake or hearty picnic snacks that are loved by many. We want to give people the opportunity to experience the entire spectrum of tastes," adds Meda Šermukšnė, head of the Gyvi gali organization.

An opportunity not only to taste, but also to learn more about plant-based nutrition

It is no secret that plant products can be beneficial to health, and at the same time contribute to the solution of environmental or ethical problems. During the picnic, guests will have the opportunity to listen to discussions on these topics.

Artists: Agnė Gintalaitė, Mantas Meškerys and Šarūnas Zenkevičius will discuss the unexpected echoes of the plant theme in the cultural sphere. Later, Gretė Lelė, advisor to the Minister of Economy and Innovation, and Ieva Budraitė, leader of the Green Party, will take over the microphone, discussing the importance of promoting plant-based food on a global and national level.

"By adding more plant-based foods to our diet, we are driving important changes not only in our country, but around the world." The discussions at the picnic are a good opportunity to get inspired to personally contribute to these changes", M. Šermukšnė shares her thoughts.

Everyone is welcome at the picnic - there will be plenty of activities even for the little ones

12 o'clock the kick-off event will begin with an open Mai Ram yoga class, followed by the aforementioned discussions. At the same time, the guests of the picnic will be able to taste plant-based pizzas and other free snacks, while the pleasant music selection of "Ramu Records" will sound in the background.

The organizers encourage people not to come alone to the picnic - invite friends, bring four-legged pets and, of course, children. A special program awaits the little ones: kite workshops, soap bubble blowing, face painting and other entertainment.
